Since signing with the Colts in March of 2018, Eric has embraced his new home in the Indianapolis area and plans to be involved with the community. Eric’s Chapel Hill roots from his college days still remain an important part of his life, where he left a lasting legacy and he strongly supports his alma mater.

April 2016: Eckrich, the makers of naturally hardwood smoked sausage and savory deli meats, partnered with Lipari Foods and Operation Homefront, a national nonprofit whose mission is to build strong, stable, and secure military families, to honor a Hamburg, Mich. military family. Eric was honored to present the family with the gift of free groceries for the year as a sign of gratitude for their service.
July 2016: While on the Lions, Eric played in the game against Minnesota while wearing custom cleats honoring his father and his late grandfather. After the game, Eric auctioned off the cleats to raise money for Parkinson’s research and awareness.

August 2017: Play 4 Keeps Skills Camp is a specialty football camp designed to improve the training, footwork, and hands of players in skill positions. Coached by Eric and located in his hometown of Greensboro, NC, youth in the area were able to learn from the pro and work to develop and refine their game.

November 2018: Eric joined the volunteers of Second Helpings, which organizes the preparation and distribution of food to thousands of Indianapolis-area hungry (and also offers a free culinary job training program to area underprivileged). He loved getting to engage with residents of his new community while helping out those in need.
